Perfect Rice Ever Time

Follow package directions, or follow this time tested method:

  1. Combine 1 cup rice, liquid (see chart below), 1 teaspoon salt (optional) and 1 tablespoon butter or margarine (optional) in 2- to 3-quart saucepan.
  2. Heat to boiling; stir; reduce heat; cover and cook according to time on chart.
  3. If liquid is not absorbed, replace cover and cook 2 to 4 minutes longer. Fluff with fork

Microwave Directions

  1. Combine 1 cup rice, liquid (see chart), 1 teaspoon salt (optional) and 1 tablespoon butter or margarine (optional)
    in 2- to 3-quart deep microwave-proof baking dish.
  2. Reduce power to MEDIUM (50%) and cook 15 minutes (20 minutes for parboiled rice and 30 minutes for brown rice). Fluff with fork.
