U.S. farmers grow the food that feeds the world. The food that feeds most of the world is rice. Most rice in the United States grows in six states. Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Texas are in the south. California is in the West.



California grows more food for the U.S. than any other state.


Arkansas grows more rice than any other state.


More Americans are eating rice than ever before. The United States sends rice to more than 100 other countries.








ACTIVITIES


Write the name of California on a piece of paper. Draw a picture to go with the word.

Play a game with your pictures.

Draw and color a picture of what a rice farmer does.
